A Journey of Identity

SelectorZen

The evolution of a digital identity is rarely a straight line—it’s a journey of refinement. Around 2015-2016, at the dawn of the battle royale era in PUBG, I faced the first great digital challenge: choosing a username.

I wanted something that reflected both strategy and dominance. I saw myself as someone who didn't just fight, but carefully selected which enemies to engage. Combined with a desire for an unbeatable presence, SelectorGod was born.

As my interests expanded into Chess.com, my identity shifted. I moved away from the "God" suffix and drew inspiration from Dragon Ball Z, adopting the handle SelectorZ. However, when I brought this identity to Twitch, the name was already taken, leading to the creative workaround SelectorZcorner—a nod to the strategic corners of a chessboard.

By 2025, the handle started to feel cumbersome. I embarked on an exhaustive search, consulting AI for hundreds of suggestions. I knew I had to keep "Selector," the name my community knew me by, but I needed something that resonated with the music and focus of my streams.

Then, I found SelectorZen. It clicked instantly. After receiving the approval of streamers I respect, the final transformation was complete.
